Will HYVE run on your machine?
HYVE Ether OS targets standard x86_64 desktops and laptops. This page lists the minimum and recommended specs, the team's own development and test machines, and what is explicitly not supported at beta or launch.
MINIMUM
- CPU · 64-bit x86_64, 4+ CPU cores with AES-NI + AVX2
- RAM · 8 GB (16 GB recommended)
- Storage · About 105 GB free on the target drive (HDD discouraged), plus a USB stick of 128 GB or larger for the installer (the 3.0 images are about 63 GB, too big for a 64 GB stick)
- GPU · Dedicated GPU optional · without one, AI answers are slower
- Boot · UEFI (recommended) or Legacy BIOS · Secure Boot off · x86-64 only (not Apple Silicon)
RECOMMENDED
- CPU · 8+ cores, modern Ryzen / Intel 12th gen+
- RAM · 16 GB+
- Storage · 256 GB NVMe SSD
- GPU · NVIDIA RTX 3060+ for Studios
- Network · Broadband for model downloads and web search
Development and test machines.
These are the team's own machines, running development builds. This is not a compatibility certification: a machine being listed here, or one like it, does not guarantee HYVE will run on yours. Check your machine against the minimum above. A dedicated GPU is optional: without one, AI answers are slower.

What does NOT run HYVE.
Request Closed Beta access only if your hardware is supported. If yours falls into one of the categories below, please wait for the corresponding roadmap phase before requesting access.
- ✕ Apple Silicon MacBooks (M1/M2/M3/M4)
ARM64 Apple Silicon support is on the post-launch roadmap (Phase 11). HYVE Ether OS will not boot on Apple Silicon at beta or public launch.
- ✕ Mobile devices (Pixel, Samsung, iPhone)
Mobile support is Phase 12 on the post-launch roadmap. HYVE companion apps will eventually exist but the OS itself does not run on mobile.
- ✕ CPUs without AES-NI and AVX2
CPUs that lack the AES-NI and AVX2 extensions HYVE relies on for cryptography and Studios are not supported, whatever their age. Check your CPU's specifications for both.
